What’s New

Del Mar Community Connections has begun Care Management Consultation Services. These services help older people and their families develop solutions to the challenges of aging such as future long-term care needs and arrangements for in-home care. Darcy Mulholland, MSW, a Geriatric Care Manager with Elder Care Guides will be available to meet with you in your home to evaluate your situation from an objective point of view, discuss the challenges and help you identify solutions with a summary of recommendations – all to help you live safely at home. These free services are available to our residents living in the City of Del Mar. Just call our Program Director, Heather Glenn, to make a referral.

The Telephone Reassurance Program has recently been implemented by DMCC. It is a daily check-up call that is part of Alert San Diego, the reverse 9-1-1 system. A daily automated telephone call check makes sure that you answer your phone at a designated time. Unanswered calls trigger a follow-up response by DMCC personnel to make sure you are okay. You can enroll in the program by calling DMCC. You can also register your cell phone number with Alert San Diego, San Diego County’s mass notification system to receive emergency information; simply visit www.alertsandiego.com.

Donate Your Old Car, Boat or Motorhome to DMCC.

Are you thinking of selling or trading in that old car, boat or RV? Why not donate it instead? As a charitable contribution your vehicle donation could make a big difference to DMCC. Our process is simple, quick and convenient. Your vehicle donation is tax deductible and we will provide free and timely pick-up of your vehicle or boat donation. We will supply you with the proper documentation for your tax deductible donation purposes. Please contact DMCC to find out more information about donating your car, vehicle, truck, boat, trailer, motorhome or RV to our organization.
